Meet the Team
It is our belief that a company is only as good as its people, so we work hard to maintain excellent working relationships both within and outside our organisation.
The R&S Management Team
Jason Rayner - Managing Director
Jason founded R&S at the start of the millennium, having worked his way up through the construction industry and having had many years of practical experience at site manager level. Starting his own company was the realisation of a long held ambition, and Jason relishes the challenge of running the business, seeing his ideas translate into successful strategies and directing the growth of the company. Good communication with people from all walks of life is central to his success and is embedded in the company ethos; it’s also meant he has built a close team around him whose advice and experience he relies upon. Ambitious and with a clear vision of where he wants the company to be, Jason takes a personal interest in every project, knowing that everything his team does must reflect his own standards.
“The good reputation that we have built up at R&S is invaluable”, he says. “I’m really proud of the solid, long term relationships we have built up which translates into so much repeat business for the company. I still get excited when I find new products or ways of improving the finished product for our customers!”
Dayle Bayliss - Construction Director (BSc (Hons) Building Surveying, MSc Conservation of Buildings, MRICS)
Dayle has a passion for buildings and such a thorough knowledge of construction and conservation that she has lectured in the subject at a Higher Education Institution. She has worked as a consultant for a range of private and public companies, including acting as a Contract Administrator for a Grade 11* National Trust property and Project Manager for a Grade 1 listed building on Pall Mall, central London. Dayle’s aware not only of all the various factors contributing to a successful construction process, but also understands the varying challenges of different building styles, an essential skill at R&S. Dayle’s role as Construction Director, is all encompassing and is at the heart of RSPM philosophy:
“good communication is key in all areas of the business and maintaining the link between site and office activities is a crucial part of overseeing all the projects.”
Marie Lowe - Accounts Director
Marie has been working at R&S since early 2009, introducing new systems and processes to the accounts department enabling the company to run smoothly and deal with increased workloads.
“During my time here we have gained Exor Gold accreditation. The smooth running of the accounts department is essential to maintaining our credit status and therefore our accreditation which can only attract more work for the company.”
Marie enjoys the challenge of a company that doesn’t stand still and loves to be involved in the many initiatives that a progressive and ever evolving company has to offer.
“It’s rewarding to see our own ideas that we have worked towards become successful and I always feel I have something to aim towards that goes beyond the day to day tasks.”
Jon Rayner – Health and Safety Consultant (NEBOSH, RMaPS, ACIOB, AM.Inst.CS, IEMA)
With a background in trades, leading to the management of construction sites and civil engineering projects, Jon brings years of experience to R&S. He combines an invaluable practical approach to the exacting standards demanded by CDMC works, ensuring that those on site conform to all legislative requirements, resulting in workable systems and practises. Having gained his NEBOSH Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety, Jon has over sixty successful projects ranging in value from 250k to 15m and is rightly proud of his achievements.
“My main objective is always to reduce risk for all parties, from client budgets to worker safety”
Tracey Neil – Receptionist and Administrator
Tracey joined R&S in early 2010 and provides over 25 years of experienced support to the entire team who rely on her to maintain the smooth operation of the offices, as well as making welcome all the visitors to our fully refurbished offices in Essex.
“It’s different everyday and provides me with the opportunity to be creative, to try new things, meet new people and to continually stretch myself in doing things that I haven’t done before.”
Tracey likes to get involved in the projects, contribute to the initiatives for growing the company and has particularly enjoyed organising the setting up of the office in the South West alongside the annual corporate event.
“Our Newmarket Racing Event is the perfect opportunity to get to know our clients and really enjoy ourselves.”
